My Priorities

My Priorities: A Better Lehigh County for All of Us

My priorities are informed by my experiences, listening to many of your concerns and understanding the data:

Affordable Housing: Keeping Lehigh County Within Reach

Like many, I know the stress of housing insecurity; I’ve lived in 20 different residences! Now, as a parent, I see the housing crisis straining our community. The Lehigh Valley Planning Commission reports a shortage of over 9,000 units, with home prices soaring. This isn’t just a statistic; it’s about our neighbors, our young people, our seniors.

  • My Commitment: As your Commissioner, I’ll fight to expand affordable housing. This means aggressively pursuing every grant dollar, working to streamline zoning for smart development, and ensuring our county budget truly supports working families. My experience as a Financial Aid Advocate, fighting for resources, has prepared me for this. More families should be able to afford to call Lehigh County home, and our children should be able to build their futures here.

Engaging Our Young People: Securing Our Future

The Lehigh Valley is becoming a magnet for young adults, with our 18-34 population growing significantly. This is a fantastic opportunity. We must harness this energy.

  • My Commitment: Drawing on my career in higher education, I’ll work to establish youth advisory councils, integrate students into county committees, and champion apprenticeship programs. This isn’t just about giving youth a seat at the table; it’s about keeping our talented young people in Lehigh County, fostering innovation, and building a vibrant community for generations to come. It’s ensuring one side of the Mobius Strip – our youth – is deeply connected to our county’s direction.

Thoughtful Development & Preserving Our Green Spaces

With our population projected to grow by nearly 100,000 by 2050, we must balance growth with conservation.

  • My Commitment: As a former small business owner of a cleaning company serving the residential and commercial construction industries, I understand development from the ground up. I will champion innovative land-use policies that protect the farmlands and natural resources we cherish while promoting development that truly serves our community. This means prioritizing sustainable infrastructure and accessible green spaces. Together, we can ensure Lehigh County grows in a way that honors our heritage and secures a vibrant future, with local jobs and strong neighborhoods.

Smart, Responsible Budgeting for Lehigh County

The county’s $554 million budget, with a projected $5.3 million operating loss offset by surplus, requires proactive, transparent management.

  • My Commitment: My experience managing multi-million dollar financial aid budgets and navigating my own small business through tough times has prepared me for this. I know how to stretch limited resources, plan for economic curveballs, and ensure we never leave grant dollars on the table. I will advocate for inclusive budgeting that brings your voice into the conversation. This means safeguarding essential services like mental health care and youth support, ensuring every taxpayer dollar is used wisely, and building a resilient Lehigh County for every resident.

I’m running for Lehigh County Commissioner because I believe local government should work for everyone—not just the well-connected. I’ve seen how thoughtful, strategic policy can change lives for the better. I believe tackling the priorities above — and acting on other impactful issues important to many voters, businesses and organizations in the Lehigh County – will bring us all success in the future.
